What is with this weather???

Doesn’t the song go, “…I love Paris in the summer, when it’s sizzlin’…”? and the drizzlin’ was supposed to happen in the winter?? It has only NOT rained 2 days out of our whole trip! WE DIDN”T PACK FOR THIS!!! We did bring ONE pair of long pants, for going out and dressing up in the evenings, and I knew it’d be a little cooler in London because of the drizzly fog, but we were NOT expecting it to really rain so much! it’s supposed to be crazy-hot in southern Europe in the summer, and THAT’S what we packed for! oh, well – c’est le vie, as they say here in France ;)
we went to two different Paris train stations to try to get tickets to Barcelona for that night, and both of the women helping us made the same “good luck – yikes” face when we asked… but then Clara got very creative and found a way! first we take the night train to Toulouse, then reboard for Narbonne, then from there to Port Bou Espagne, before finally arriving in Barcelona 14 ½ hours later! works for us! after we got that all settled, we took off for the Eiffel Tower and sat in the park taking pictures and drawing it. Then back to Rue Cler one more time to sit at a café for a long time and eat and draw! We love how the waiters in France wait to bring you your bill until you ask for it “l’addition”, and when our waitress at this restaurant saw we were just sitting and reading and drawing after we ate, she didn’t try to rush us in any way… in fact, she brought us another pitcher of water afterwards! it must have been an hour later when she finally left us the check! very relaxing way to eat and live – jason wants to bring that “non-rushed” atmosphere back home with him! Off to the train sleeper car…
